It was raining hard this morning— the first appreciable rain we’ve had in about a month, it feels like. It went from 80°+ yesterday to 50° this morning, and the chilly air felt amazing. I opened my slider door to hear the sound of the rain as I had breakfast (leftover Mother’s Day brunch), and it was such a peaceful st…

This afternoon, I was presented a belated award for winning the Covington Chamber of Commerce “Entrepreneur of The Year” for 2025. Who else feels me on this? 😂 Mancala is played differently than I remember. You might also be surprised to know that in addition to taking an ever-increasing amount of supplements and vitamins, the average age of a first-time home buyer is now 40 years old.

My garden is starting to wake up and the first rose blooms are emerging 🥹 My Spanish lavender is also coming in beautifully, but I am a bit worried about my lack of bee friends. Normally my lavender is buzzing like a busy café and I have only seen 2 bees in the past couple of days.

I am so very honored and touched to have been recognized again for my community stewardship, and this award will be nestled next to one I received in 2024. 🙏🏼 Building community and giving back are the cornerstones of my business, and to be “seen” by fellow business owners and community members is beyond special.
I’d also love to give a special shoutout to my husband who tirelessly works behind-the-scenes and has a hand in every single event and idea that I implement for my business. (Mostly as my set up & take down crew, but that is no easy feat!) Not to mention being the foundation & waterproofing expert on my team. I couldn’t do it without him!
To my fellow small business owners out there, I see you, too. And you are amazing!

We’ve had such little rain that I’ve already had to water some of my perennial garden, which is wild. But I am realizing this is likely our new normal. My side yard is getting a drought-tolerant refresh, and I’m so excited for that to come together. I can’t wait to see what this year’s blooms have in store for me. 💕
