I don’t know about you, but I have some really big takeaways from the Mariners’ playoff run and 15-inning game that we can apply to our every day lives. Leo Rivas made his playoff debut on game 5 of the ALDS night after NINE years in the minor leagues, and he tied the do-or-die game with his first at-bat on his 28th birthday. When the announcers shared these facts, it truly brought me to tears. And then he hit the RBI in one of the most important games in franchise history. The lesson here is that grit and perseverance will get us to our goals, no matter how long it takes. In that same game, Josh Naylor stole 3rd for his 30th stolen base of the season, and he’s the second slowest sprint speed in all of baseball. Slow and steady wins the race, every time. Eugenio Suarez’s Grand Slam last night was pure magic, and I’ll just leave you with his quote: “You just got to keep going, you just got to work hard, never quit, never doubt on yourself and not put too much pressure on yourself. When you try too hard is when you are not going to have good results. I’m the guy who just believes in what I can do, and I put everything on the field and I expect to have good results every time.” LET’S GO MARINERS! Refuse To Lose! stephsellsseattle This gorgeous Tuesday is an example of what you can look forward to in a Western Washington autumn. Sure, the rain comes back, BUT we also frequently get incredible days like this. I decided to take advantage and go for a sunny seaside stroll in one of my most favorite places— Dune Peninsula park in Tacoma, Washington. I grabbed lunch at @toastmiplease, stocked up on some goods at @metmarket, and then worked by the water for a bit before going on a walk. For me, adventuring isn’t just about grand trips, big vacations, or having to create elaborate plans. It’s about enjoying my everyday life, and grabbing moments when and where I can.
